The Place for Screenprinting
In an age of digital printing, websites and hi-resolution graphics, is there room in a modern sign shop for screenprinting? You Bet!
Screenprinting, also known as silk screening, has been around for hundreds of years. It's a fairly simple concept - squeezing ink through a design on a mesh screen. The process, however, involves several precision steps, careful technique and fairly intensive cleanup. However, the results speak for themselves. A high-quality screenprint has a glossy, textured look unlike anything produced by a digital printer. Screenprinting has an important benefit in today's business world. Once everything is set up, we can print several signs at a relatively low per-item cost. Simply put, the cost benefits increase the more signs you print!Need to know :
- Minimum order of 10 signs (same design)
- Per unit cost decreases with larger order
- Design must be “screenprint friendly”
- Signs in most cases in 5-7 business days
- Design not as “perfect” as digital print
